DAY 22

DAY 22:  Wednesday, October 22

TOPIC:  Our Judges and the Judicial System

SCRIPTURE:  Deuteronomy 16: 18-20   18 You shall appoint judges and officers in all your towns that the Lord your God is giving you, according to your tribes, and they shall judge the people with righteous judgement.  19 You shall not pervert justice.  You shall not show partiality, and you shall not accept a bribe, for a bribe blinds the eyes of the eyes of the wise and subverts the course of the righteous.  20Justice, and only justice, you shall follow, that you may live and inherit the land that the Lord your God is giving you.

OBSERVATION:  This Old Testament instruction should hold as fast today as it did centuries ago.  Those that seek and sit in the seat of judgment should heed these words in scripture.  Those citizens that serve jury duty need to also understand that these principles also apply to the jury.  If all involved in the judicial system could hold fast to these words, the system would work as intended.

PRAYER:  Heavenly Father, my prayer is for all those who sit in the seat of judgement whether judge or jury to seek the truth at hand.  It goes without question that there will be those that do not know you Father, may the presence of your Spirit be seen in your followers and true justice be served, knowing who the true Judge is.  Amen.

Thank you for joining in prayer with your neighbors across El Dorado and Union County, Arkansas for the 2025 40 Days of Prayer. Please continue to pray for blessings and unity for our community.
