DAY 30: Praise to the God Who Holds the Future

Remember not the former things, nor consider the things of old. Behold, I am doing a new thing; now it springs forth, do you not perceive it? I will make a way in the wilderness and rivers in the desert. – Isaiah 43:18-19

All praise and gratitude to God who is constantly moving us forward. He takes what the enemy meant for evil and He turns it for good. His plans are so much greater than anything human will could fashion. For it is written, No eye has seen, nor ear heard, nor the heart of man imagined, what God has prepared for those who love him.

Father God we come before you with praise and thanksgiving for who you are and the future you hold for us. You are good and you move us toward good. You are kind, and generous, and loving. Help us be like you. Your plans are so much better than anything we can do, so have your way in our lives and in our city. All Praise, Honor and Glory are Yours, God. Amen!

DAY 29: Teachers, Administrators, and Other School Employees

Instruct the wise, and they will be even wiser. Teach the righteous, and they will learn even more. – Proverbs 9:9

You are the first connection with the students. You are their protector. You evaluate and help each person learn the skills they need in life. You are their cheerleader. You display respect and offer love thirty seconds at a time. Thank you for the countless hours you spend during the summer, weekends, and holidays preparing for your students.

Lord, we pray for perseverance for the school personnel. Give them the strength each day and the ability to complete each day with your grace. In Christ’s name we pray. Amen

DAY 28: Those Incarcerated and Their Families

Remember those who are in prison, as though in prison with them, and those who are mistreated, since you also are in the body. – Hebrews 13: 3

Jesus expects us to be concerned about those in prison. They need the gospel as much as anyone. They often lack hope and cannot understand the of peace of God, which surpasses all understanding. They need prayers, letters, and visits. Their families also need prayers and encouragement.

Father in Heaven, we praise you for being the great God that you are. We praise you for your power and the love that you have for us. We pray, Father, for those incarcerated and especially for believers who are in prison. Give them your peace, God, and cause them to look to you for sustenance and encouragement. We pray, Father, that they will become believers if they are not and be an example for all. Father we also pray for the comfort of their families, we pray that you will take away their anxieties, and help them with their needs. Through Jesus we pray these things. Amen

DAY 27: Mental Health

Fear not for I am with you. Be not dismayed, for I am your God, I will strengthen you and I will uphold you. – Isaiah 41:10

There are people from all walks of life that encounter mental health issues from stress, abusive relationships, drugs, but put your trust in God and having a relationship with him will lift you up.

Heavenly Father, we know people are battling with mental health issues today, it could be from stress, relationships, drugs but we lift them up to you and pray they have a desire to follow you.

DAY 26: All Leaders in Government

First of all, then, I urge that supplicants, prayers, intercessions, and thanksgivings be made for all people, for kings and all who are in high positions, that we may lead a peaceful and quiet life, godly and dignified in every way. – 1 Timothy 2:1-2

It matters not your personal feeling about those in high places, elected and appointed officials in our government scripture instructs us to pray for them.

Heavenly Father, so that we all can live peaceful and godly lives I pray that those who govern from the local level to the national level look for their guidance from you Father. And as a society join together and recognize that all true power is in your Holy Hands. Amen.

DAY 25: Missionaries

Make disciples of all nations – Matthew 28:19

Churches across Union County are involved in many ways in the Great Commission. There are also increasing numbers of people moving to El Dorado from all nations. We need more churches in our community to directly send out missionaries, but we also need churches to take up the challenge to reach the nations that have come to Union County: China, Vietnam, Pakistan, India, Mexico, Honduras, etc.

God, we ask You to raise up more laborers for the harvest. The number of people in our community alone who need the gospel of Jesus is overwhelming. Unless you provide the workers, the job will remain unfinished. Please call more and more cross-cultural missionaries to serve you abroad and here in our community.

DAY 24: Firefighters, Police Officers, and Paramedics

Haven’t I commanded you: be strong and courageous? Do not be afraid or discouraged, for the Lord your God is with you wherever you go! – Joshua 1:9

The work that our Firefighters, Police Officers & Paramedics is hard and difficult. They have to constantly leave room for the unexpected. They drop everything they are doing to take care of emergencies. We have a wonderful group of Firefighters, Police Officers and Paramedics in Union County. We often take them for granted.

Dear Lord protect the brave men and women in our community who serve as firefighters, police officers and paramedics. Equip them Lord, mentally, physically, and spiritually to confront what is set before them. We humbly offer this prayer that you give them strength and courage for the facing of this hour. Give them your protection and guidance by the power of the Holy Spirit. In the name of Jesus we pray. Amen!

DAY 23: Praise for Answered Prayer

Ask, and it will be given to you; seek, and you will find; knock, and it will be opened to you. For everyone who asks receives, and he who seeks finds, and to him who knocks it will be opened. – Matthew 7:7-8

God answers prayer! It really is that simple. We should believe it! AND, we give thanks and praise to God for answering our prayers!

We praise the God who hears His people and answers their prayers! May we be encouraged and may our faith be built up as we remember all the times that You have answered our prayers. May this city be a praying city, fully believing that they will receive what the ask for. We praise the God who answers prayers!

DAY 22: Our Judges and the Judicial System

If any of you lack wisdom, let him ask of God, that giveth to all men liberally, and upbraideth not; and it shall be given him. But let him ask in faith, nothing wavering. For he that wavereth is like a wave of the sea driven with the wind and tossed. – James 1:5-6

The work of our judicial system is among the most difficult in our society. Our judges and jurors are called upon to protect the rights and liberties of their fellow citizens while enforcing law and providing justice to victims. In exercising these duties, each must seek to find the wisdom that comes from God.

Heavenly Father, we thy children approach thee in humble prayer for the judges and juries in our communities. Bless them with the wisdom through the Spirit of Christ to know good from evil. Give unto them the ability to be merciful unto their brethren, to deal justly, to judge righteously, and to do good continually. In the name of Jesus Christ. Amen.

DAY 21: Foster Care/Adoption

Religion that is pure and undefiled before God the Father is this: to visit orphans and widows in their affliction, and to keep oneself unstained from the world. – James 1:27

Father of the fatherless and protector of widows is God in his holy habitation. God settles the solitary in a home – Psalm 68:5-6a

Learn to do good; seek justice, correct oppression; bring justice to the fatherless, plead the widow’s cause. – Isaiah 1:17

The Bible is full of passages that call upon Christians to care for the orphan and children who are in helpless situations. The good news is that God has equipped us all to do something! Begin by praying and asking God to use you in this calling. God may call you to foster a child. Or God may call you to adopt. God may call you to support foster or adoptive families. He may call you to help lead your church toward serving in foster care and adoption. However, God may be leading you to care for the needs of children and families in need, He will also equip you in His work!

Dear Lord, we thank you that you are a good father who has adopted us into your family. We pray that the church would share your same heart as we care for children in need. We pray for foster and adoptive families that you would fill them with your strength. We pray for ministries in El Dorado that you would guide them in their work. We pray for the mending of broken families. And finally, we pray for these precious children that you would protect them and cover them with your steadfast love.
