DAY 10: Love and Forgiveness

DAY 10: Love and Forgiveness

But love your enemies, and do good, and lend, expecting nothing in return, and your reward will be great, and you will be sons of the Most High for he is kind to the ungrateful and the evil. – Luke 6:35

How can you love your enemies? You can do good to them and pray for them. You cannot hate someone for whom you pray. If this was the way of everyone, there would be no enemies.

Father God, we praise you for your love of your children and for the forgiveness that you offer to all people. Father help each of us to forgive and love others as you love all. Help us to remember to do good to all people as Paul stated in Galatians 6:10.

DAY 8: Families

DAY 8: Families

Start children off on the way they should go, and even when they are old, they will not turn from it. – Proverbs 22:6

If someone trains you, that person teaches you new skills and gives you necessary preparation to complete a particular job or activity. As parents/guardians, it is our responsibility to teach our kids HOW to think for themselves, HOW to study, HOW to think for themselves, HOW to worship, and HOW to pray. We are to teach children right from wrong with calm words and actions, give them your attention, listen to their perception, set limits, give consequences, acknowledge them for being good, know when not to respond, and to be prepared. Solomon said, “Train him/her up.” This describes the period from birth to maturity. It is our responsibility as parents/guardians to be consistent with teaching our knowledge of the Lord, referring to scripture for guidance. Action is far more important than technique.

Dear Lord; With everything life throws at us, it can be hard to stay grateful for what matters most: our family. You teach us to remember the importance of maintaining strong family bonds and unity. Please help us build a foundation for our community through our families, raising our children to make informed and educated decisions, so that they may take the reigns of leadership and build for future our prosperity.

DAY 7: Marriages

DAY 7: Marriages

“We know two are better than one for they have a great reward for their toil. For if they fall, one will lift his fellow. But woe to him that is alone, when he falls he has not another to lift him up.” – Ecclesiastes 4:9

In marriage, many times when one spouse is going through some difficult times they can reach out to their partner for guidance and assurance.

Lord, we know that two are better than one, this was your design. Help us to truly lift up one another as you have created us to do.

DAY 6: Revival

12

DAY 6: Revival

Repent, then, and turn to God, so that your sins may be wiped out, that times of refreshing may come from the Lord. – Acts 3:19

When we think about revival we often times think about an experience or a big “show”. I think it’s clear here in Acts when it says repent and turn to God so that times of refreshing may come. These times of refreshing would refer to as revival. This is not some fabricated act or show. Revival is a true HEART change and a Change in a person. That’s true revival. Let us repent and ask the Lord to change our Hearts so that we may experience true revival.

Dear Heavenly Father, We come to you today just simply thanking you for all you have done for us because we are not worthy. Thank you for saving us and keeping us everyday we wake up with breath in our lungs. Lord today we ask that you radically change our hearts. Let us have a true heart change. Whatever we have been hiding in the dark let it come to light. Let our inner man the heart be changed forever and let your refreshing presence rest on us. In Jesus name we pray, Amen!

DAY 5: Peace in our world

Grace be to you and peace from God our Father, and from the Lord Jesus Christ.

II Corinthians 1:2

In prayer we recognize that the peace of God surpasses all understanding and we pray for that peace throughout the world.

Father God in the name of in the name of Jesus, we thank you for your grace and your mercy, but most of all Father we thank you for your peace right now. We ask that the peace that is in you, you give to us that we can show others in this world what peace really looks like through you. In the name of your Son, Jesus Christ. Amen!

DAY 4: Peace in our nation

DAY 4: Peace in our nation

If my people, who are called by my name, will humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, and I will forgive their sin and will heal their land.

2 Chronicles 7:14

If we, God’s people, will pray and seek His face. He will forgive us and heal us, but we must humble ourselves.

Loving, Heavenly Father. We humble ourselves before You as we pray for peace in our nation. We praise you in advance for the promise to forgive us and heal our land. Amen

DAY 3: Peace in our community

DAY 3: Peace in our community

For he is our peace, who hath made both one, and hath broken down the middle wall of partition between us. – Ephesians 2:14

There is so much division in our community. We don’t have to ignore our differences to work together. We must respect one another and learn to listen to those around us. We must break down the wall between us to work together for the betterment of our community and ourselves.

Dear Heavenly Father, we have allowed ourselves to focus so much on our differences that we have forgotten our most important commonality, that we are ALL your children. As your children, Lord, please guide us in promoting peace and unity instead of hate and division. Amen.

DAY 2: Praise of God

DAY 2: Praise of God

I love you, O Lord, my strength. The Lord is my rock and my fortress and my deliverer, my God, my rock, in whom I take refuge, my shield, and the horn of my salvation, my stronghold. I call upon the Lord, who is worthy to be praised, and I am saved from my enemies. Psalm 18:1-3

Praising God can mean simply speaking the truths we know about Him. That’s how David starts his praise: “The Lord is my rock, my fortress, and my deliverer” Praising God and thanking Him for what He has done in our lives can help us to think about “whatever is true,” which the apostle Paul says will help us have peace (Philippians 4:8). But, it can also change our hearts and lives as we pay closer attention to who God is and what God does for us on a daily basis. When we praise God we become more aware of His workings all around us.

Heavenly Father, You are our Rock, our fortress and our deliverer. We come to You today to give You all the praise and honor that is due unto You alone. Thank You Lord, for Your goodness towards us all. By praising you today we become more aware of your presence in our lives and in our community. God fix our eyes on you today. In Jesus’s name we pray, AMEN.

DAY 1:  Thankful for the avenue of prayer

DAY 1:  Thankful for the avenue of prayer

And another angel came and stood at the alter with a golden censer, and he was given much incense to offer with the prayers of the saints on a golden alter before the throne, and the smoke of the incense, with the prayers of the saints, rose before God from the hand of the angel. Then the angel took the censer and filled it with fire from the alter and throw it on the earth, and there were peals of thunder, rumblings, flashes of lightning, and an earthquake. – Revelation 8:3-5

Our prayers are a sweet aroma before God. He loves to hear them. His response shakes heaven and earth. At times we are unaware of His actions, but they always happen. The gracious thing is that He answers according to what is truly needed. We can trust Him and His loving response.

Father, we are so grateful for this avenue of prayer. We are thrilled that you are concerned for us and desire to hear us. We trust your love for us and your response and we pledge to continue talking with you. We pray you are attentive to these concerns mentioned through the next 40 days. Open our hearts and minds to be aware of your presence. We pray through Jesus. Amen.
