Day 33 – Wednesday, Nov 2, 2016

Now therefore thus saith the Lord of hosts; Consider your ways.

 -Haggai 1:5 KJV

OBSERVATION: One of God’s simplest yet straight forward messages was to a nation who’s priorities drifted away from God. The message was simply, “Consider your ways!” Consider your priorities, consider your dedication, and consider your actions. Our country has lost its focus on God and we have been more concerned with building up our own lives than obeying God’s will in our lives. May we all consider our ways!
PRAYER: Father, please help guide and direct me to Your path. Help me stay focused on Your task. May I always put You as my first priority in my life. I love you, Father. In your Son, Jesus Christ’s, name I pray, Amen.

Day 32 – Tuesday, Nov. 1, 2016

I thank my God every time I mention you in my prayers. I’m thankful for all of you every time I pray, and it’s always a prayer full of joy. I’m glad because of the way you have been my partners in the ministry of the gospel from the time you first believed it until now.

 -Philippians 1: 3-5

OBSERVATION: Paul writes of his joyfulness of the church. He is joyful because the church at Philippi is partnered in his effort to share the Gospel of Christ and the Salvation that is offered through Christ. It will be a truly joyful thing with us a community to be together in pray and also in being disciples of Christ, for Christ, sharing His love and His Gospel with our community.
PRAYER: Abba God, lead us into mission field of life, lead us with Your grace into the paths of those that do not know you, grant us the wisdom and courage to show them Christ in us so that they may come to know you. In your Son’s holy and precious name, we make this prayer. Amen

Day 31 – Monday, Oct. 31, 2016

The potter was making a pot from clay. But there was something wrong with the pot. So the potter used that clay to make another pot. With his hands he shaped the pot the way he wanted it to be. Then this message from the Lord came to me:  “Family of Israel, you know that I can do the same thing with you. You are like the clay in the potter’s hands, and I am the potter.” This message is from the Lord.

-Jeremiah 18: 4-6

OBSERVATION: Even in a time of brokenness the Lord God can remold us, repair us, and bring a new life to us, the children of God.
PRAYER: Father God, we make this prayer today that you bring repair to us today, that you mend our brokenness, heal our hearts, and God through your direction form us into the vessels that you want us to be, so that we are no longer full of ourselves but are filled with the Holy Spirit and that your love and grace shines through us. Lord we pray that your love is shown to those that do not know you through us. In Jesus name we make this prayer. Amen

Day 30 – Sunday, Oct. 30, 2016

Blessed is the one who does not walk in step with the wicked or stand in the way that sinners take or sit in the company of mockers, but whose delight is in the law of the Lord, and who meditates on his law day and night. That person is like a tree planted by streams of water, which yields its fruit in season and whose leaf does not wither—whatever they do prospers.

Psalms 1:1-3

OBSERVATION: We find delight when we meditate on God’s
Word.

PRAYER: Holy God, we pray that we will be able to sink our roots deep into your Word. Our prayer is that in doing so, we will find true refreshment in the midst of the struggles of life, because we
know that your Word brings light, love and hope. Amen.

Day 29 – Saturday, Oct. 29

Don’t let anyone look down on you because you are young, but set an example for the believers in speech, in conduct, in love, in faith and in purity.

-1 Timothy 4:12

OBSERVATION: We are all setting an example and have influence on others each and every day. This is true for the child, the school aged, the middle aged, and the elderly. Today let’s be honest with ourselves in how we are setting an example in relation to these five nouns: speech, conduct, love, faith, and purity.

PRAYER: Father, today we approach your throne with humble hearts. Give us the wisdom to seek YOUR ways in how we live in this community. Help us to see that our big and little actions set an example to those around us no matter how old we are. Fill our hearts with love, faith, and purity so that the example of Christ pours out in our speech and actions.

Day 28 – Friday, Oct. 28, 2016

Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make your paths straight.

-Proverbs 3:5&6
OBSERVATION: We need God’s guidance in the midst of the many voices and circumstances in our lives.
PRAYER: Heavenly Father we wish to follow your will for our lives, and we often find that hard to do in our daily lives. Help us to remember to stop and listen to your voice speaking in our hearts, and to trust you with all of life. Thank you for your good and perfect will. Amen.

Day 27 – Thursday, Oct. 27, 2016

Pilate therefore said to him: Art thou a king then? Jesus answered: Thou sayest that I am a king. For this was I born, and for this came I into the world; that I should give testimony to the truth. Every one that is of the truth, heareth my voice.

-John 18:37

OBSERVATION: Jesus wants to reign in our hearts, homes, churches, city, nation, world and universe. Only under His rule will we ever find joy, peace and fulfillment.
PRAYER: Almighty and everlasting God, who in your beloved Son, the King of the whole word, did will to restore all things, mercifully grant that all the families of the nations now kept apart by the wound of sin, may be brought under the sweet yoke of His rule, who lives and reigns with you in the unity of the Holy Spirit, one God for ever and ever. Amen.

Day 26 – Wednesday, Oct. 26

“For you have not received a spirit of slavery leading to fear again, but you have received a spirit of adoption as sons by which we cry out, “Abba! Father!” The Spirit Himself testifies with our spirit that we are children of God.”

-Romans 8:15–16 (NASB)

OBSERVATION: Fear and slavery paralyze; Faith and adoption liberate!

PRAYER: As this day we pray, may we cry out through the Spirit remembering that we are children of God Himself! Amen.

Day 25 – Tuesday, Oct. 25

“Jesus replied, “Anyone who loves me will obey my teaching. My Father will love them, and we will come to them and make our home with them.”

-John 14:23, NIV

OBSERVATION: I firmly believe that there is nothing we can do that would make God love us less; there is nothing we can do that would make God love us more. God loves us unconditionally, period.
PRAYER: As today we pray, may we choose to obey; listening intently for the still, small voice of His Spirit, that we may make our home with the Father who loves us.

Amen.

Day 24 – Monday, Oct. 24

36 When he saw the crowds, he had compassion on them, because they were harassed and helpless, like sheep without a shepherd. 37 Then he said to his disciples, “The harvest is plentiful but the workers are few. 38 Ask the Lord of the harvest, therefore, to send out workers into his harvest field.” – Matthew 9:36-38

OBSERVATION: As Jesus went about the community he slowed down and observed the great need they had for him. This broke his heart and he instructed his disciples to pray for workers to go into the community with his eyes that see and his heart of love.
PRAYER: Heavenly Father give us the eyes of your Son that we might see people in need of you. Give us the heart of your Son that we will have a compassionate desire to lead people to Jesus.
