DAY 10

DAY 10:  Friday, October 10

TOPIC:  Community Unity and Racial Healing

SCRIPTURE: “There is no longer Jew or Gentile, slave or free, male and female. For you are all one in Christ Jesus.”  Galatians 3:28  NLT

OBSERVATION:   This is a simple command to understand but difficult to live out in daily life.  As a disciple of Jesus we will have enemies.  It is what we do when persecuted that will make us stand out.  All of these are actions: do good, bless, pray. These actions can transform the life of our enemy.

PRAYER:  Father, we boldly ask in the name of Jesus that you protect our brothers and sisters who are persecuted for Your name.  Let them feel Your peace wash over them as they stand for You.  Give them wisdom to know how they can do good to those who are against them.  Show them ways they can bless those who cast stones.  Speak the words to their hearts so they can pray for the salvation of those who are lost and hurting without You.  Lord, we ask that you protect them from harm and that in all things Your glory, power, and love is represented to its fullest.  Amen.

Thank you for joining in prayer with your neighbors across El Dorado and Union County, Arkansas for the 2025 40 Days of Prayer. Please continue to pray for blessings and unity for our community.

We are so grateful for your partnership in God’s Kingdom work. May you and yours be blessed.

DAY 8

DAY 8:  Wednesday, October 8

TOPIC:  Children

SCRIPTURE: “Direct your children onto the right path, and when they get older, they will not depart from it.” – Proverbs 22:6

OBSERVATION:  The Bible tells us that children are a gift from the Lord, and they are the best gift we could ever receive. It can be easy to get caught up in the worry of not doing enough or being enough for them. This scripture reminds us to stay the course and continue to lay the foundation of the love of Christ for them. Continue to take time and remind them of the promises of the Lord and who they are in Christ. Don’t just teach them, but show them what a life living for Christ looks like so that when they get older they will have a solid foundation to build their lives on. God will use the seeds that were planted in their young age to bring them back to Him.

PRAYER:  Father, thank you for the gift of children! The joy they bring into our lives is unmatched and gives us a glimpse of the love you have for each one of us. I pray that every parent, teacher, minister, volunteer, or any other person involved with children, are strengthened and encouraged to continue pouring the love of the Lord into them. Father, I also pray for the children who may not have someone to show them the love of Christ. I pray that you will place people in their lives that can lead them to You. In Jesus Christ name, Amen.

Thank you for joining in prayer with your neighbors across El Dorado and Union County, Arkansas for the 2025 40 Days of Prayer. Please continue to pray for blessings and unity for our community.

DAY 7

DAY 7:  Tuesday, October 7

TOPIC:  Marriages

SCRIPTURE: “By wisdom a house is built, and through understanding it is established; through knowledge its rooms are filled with rare and beautiful treasures” -Proverbs 24:3–4

OBSERVATION:  Marriage, like a house, requires careful building. Wisdom and understanding are not simply human skills but gifts from God that help couples grow in love, respect, and grace. When Christ is the cornerstone of the relationship, the rooms of the marriage become filled with the rare and beautiful treasures of patience, forgiveness, and joy. These treasures do not come quickly, but through daily choices to love and serve one another as Christ loves us. In this way, every home can be a witness to God’s faithfulness and a shelter of blessing for all who enter.

PRAYER:   Gracious God, You are the foundation of every home and the giver of wisdom, understanding, and knowledge. Bless all marriages with Your Spirit so that their lives together may be filled with rare and beautiful treasures. Strengthen couples in times of struggle, deepen their gratitude in times of joy, and renew their hope when days feel heavy. May their homes shine as places of welcome, safety, and grace, bearing witness to Your faithfulness. In the name of Jesus Christ, our sure foundation, Amen.

DAY 6

DAY 6:  Monday, October 6

TOPIC:  Love and Forgiveness

SCRIPTURE: “So this is my command: Love each other deeply, as much as I have loved you. For the greatest love of all is a love that sacrifices all. And this great love is demonstrated when a person sacrifices his life for his friends.” – John 15:12-13 (TPT)

OBSERVATION: God is love. We, as humans, know and can demonstrate love only because God first loved us. We are never more like Jesus than when we sacrificially love, which includes forgiving those who have hurt us. Forgiveness is not saying the hurt done to you was okay, but it is proclaiming that you are okay. Forgiveness allows you to replace the detrimental force of pain with the life-giving power of love.  Forgiveness requires sacrifice, but it is a sacrifice that restores life and demonstrates the love of God.

PRAYER:  Father God, thank you for teaching us how to love by loving us so perfectly. Thank you for being the perfect example of sacrificial love and forgiveness. Help us to follow the example of Jesus as we let go of wrongs done to us and connect with the freedom of forgiveness and the power of love. It is in the mighty name of Jesus that we pray. Amen!

DAY 5

DAY 5:  Sunday, October 5

TOPIC: Praise of God

SCRIPTURE: “Let everything that has breath praise the Lord.  Praise the Lord!”  (Psalm 150: 6, ESV)

OBSERVATION:  Praise is the natural response of all creation to God’s greatness.  Every breath we take is a gift from Him, and each breath is an opportunity to honor Him.  When we praise, we shift our focus from our troubles to God’s power, goodness, and faithfulness.  Praise brings joy, peace, and strength, moving our hearts always nearer to Him.

PRAYER: Father in Heaven, help me to train my mind to praise You and give You the glory in every circumstance for the blessings that You bestow on me.  May my words, actions, and thoughts bring glory to Your name.  Teach me to live a life of continual worship, rejoicing in who You are, and praising You for being the great God you are.  In Jesus’ name, Amen.

DAY 4:  Saturday, October 4

TOPIC:  Peace in our Nation and in our World

SCRIPTURE: “Pray for kings and others in power so we may live quiet and peaceful lives as we worship and honor God. This kind of prayer is good, and it pleases God our Savior.”” 1 Timothy 2:2-3

OBSERVATION: We are told to pray for those in positions of power and authority, not because we completely agree with them, but so that we can live quiet and peaceful lives, as we seek to serve God.  We are even told that this type of prayer pleases God.

PRAYER: Heavenly Father, we pray for those who are in positions of power and authority. We ask that You bless them as they lead our nation, and nations around the world.  Work in their lives so that You may work through them to foster peace both here and around the world.  May Your peace reign not only in our hearts, but also in our world.  Amen.

DAY 3

DAY 3:  Friday, October 3

TOPIC:  Peace in our Community

SCRIPTURE: “Be completely humble and gentle; be patient, bearing with one another in love. Make every effort to keep the unity of the Spirit through the bond of peace.” – Ephesians 4:2-3

OBSERVATION: We recognize that we live in a sinful world that many times puts self over others. Imagine what our community and our world would be like if we were more patient and kind towards others.

PRAYER:  Dear Lord, today we come before you asking that you bring a peace amongst the residents of El Dorado. Help us to be more tolerant and loving of each other. Please protect our community from harm and violence. We thank you for sending your Son Jesus, the Prince of Peace so that we may have a model for what love is. In Jesus name we pray. Amen

DAY 2

DAY 2:  Thursday, October 2

TOPIC:  Revival

SCRIPTURE: “If my people who are called by my name humble themselves, and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven and will forgive their sin and heal their land.”  2 Chronicles 7:14

OBSERVATION:  God promises restoration when His people turn back to Him in humility and repentance.  Revival in a nation does not begin with policies or power, but with the hearts of God’s people being renewed in His presence. When we pray and return to righteousness, God’s healing can flow through families, communities, and our nation.

PRAYER: Heavenly Father, we humbly come before you, confessing our sins and the sins of our land.  Forgive us when we have turned away from you and walked our own paths.  Lord, pour out your Holy Spirit upon this nation.  Revive our churches, our families, and our hearts.  Grant us a hunger for your Word, a fire for prayer, and boldness to witness.  May you stir our hearts and send revival across every state, city, and family in the United States.

Thank you for joining in prayer with your neighbors across El Dorado and Union County, Arkansas for the 2025 40 Days of Prayer. Please continue to pray for blessings and unity for our community.

DAY 1

DAY 1: Wednesday, October 1   (Community Prayer – City Hall at Noon)

TOPIC:  Families

SCRIPTURE: “Cast all your anxiety on him, because he cares for you.” (1 Peter 5:7)

OBSERVATION:  There is a story of a grocery manager who tried to weigh a prayer. A tired-looking family was struggling for food, meds, and a host of needs. As the mother shared it was tough, and she was weary trying to keep up with all the needs for her four children. Between childcare, medical needs, clothing, and other bills she was exhausted, and her marriage was struggling as well. The mother said, “I do not know how I am going to pay for this, but I am praying about it. The manager said, “well write it out on this paper, and I’ll weigh it, and we’ll see” (smirking).  After everything was sacked up, the women put the paper on the scale, and it outweighed the food she bought. Afterwards the manager looked at the paper: “Please Lord, give us this day our daily bread.” Families are struggling in many ways in El Dorado. During this 40 days of prayer God is calling YOU to PRAY for our FAMILIES, afterwards needs will weigh out appropriately as we cast our CARES on him!

PRAYER: “Lord, call us to PRAY, ACT, SERVE, and CARE, as your CARE for us!”
