I urge you, first of all, to pray for all people. Ask God to help them; intercede on their behalf and give thanks for them. Pray this way for kings and all who are in authority so that we can live peaceful and quiet lives marked by godliness and dignity. This is good and pleases God our Savior, who wants everyone to be saved and to understand the truth. – 1 Timothy 2:1-4 (NLT)
Reflect | Here we have more than a suggestion, it’s actually a command! And not only is it a command, but it’s a priority given to believers. We’re admonished to pray for all people, and specifically for kings and for all who are in authority. The policemen of our community are some of those in authority. Three things we’re told…. ask God to help them, intercede for them, and give thanks for them. It pleases God and blesses us with peaceful lives.
Pray | Our Father in Heaven, we pray today for the servants of our community, our policemen. We ask you God to help them in every way. Direct them, keep them safe, high above evil, and free from harm. Cause them to be in the right place at the right time. We pray for their safety, summoning the ministering spirits, the heavenly host of Angelic protection to be round about them today. Just as the mountains are about Jerusalem, you God, are round about your people, our policemen in El Dorado, AR. We are thankful for these men and women who have taken their places in our community to promote safety and peace. We count it a privilege to pray for them today and every day. Thank you, Father, Amen!
