DAY 16: Friday, October 16
TOPIC: Those in Poverty
SCRIPTURE: Matthew 25:37-38,40 37 “Then the righteous will answer him, ‘Lord, when did we see you hungry and feed you, or thirsty and give you something to drink? 38 When did we see you a stranger and invite you in, or needing clothes and clothe you?
40 “The King will reply, ‘Truly I tell you, whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers and sisters of mine, you did for me.’
OBSERVATION: Followers of the King, Jesus, will ultimately give an account for our service and love towards those in need. Let us take this message to heart as we pray for lasting solutions, brotherhood of all, and the provision needed to alleviate suffering.
PRAYER: Our Father, we long for the day of the Lord when every wrong is made right and suffering ceases. Until that day, allow us, as your church, to uplift and reveal your love to those who are without. We pray for provision and strength to come so that those in our community struggling in poverty may break free from harmful cycles and lack. Equip our hearts and hands to serve the least of these so that we can hear, “Well done.”
Thank you for joining in prayer with your neighbors across El Dorado and Union County, Arkansas for the 2026 40 Days of Prayer. Please continue to pray for blessings and unity for our community.
We are so grateful for your partnership in God’s Kingdom work. May you and yours be blessed.
