DAY 19: Monday, October 19
TOPIC: Local Congregations and Unity Among Them
SCRIPTURE: “My prayer is not for them alone. I pray also for those who will believe in me through their message, 21 that all of them may be one, Father, just as you are in me and I am in you. May they also be in us so that the world may believe that you have sent me. “ John 17:20-21
OBSERVATION: In Jesus’ final moments with his followers, he makes an outrageous declaration: that the greatest testimony that will prove reality of Jesus’ claims to be sent by God will not be in sign gifts of power, in miraculous healings, or in magnanimous revivals. The greatest evidence will be the supernatural unity that exists among ALL believers. The evidence that Jesus is real is that his followers would choose to let go of the multitude of offenses and reasons to stay apart to choose to hold one another.
PRAYER: Our LORD and God, we desire to magnify you alone. Forgive us of our foolish (and sinful) divisions. May your Holy Spirit move in us to build bridges and experience genuine unity with all your children, so that your Holy Church will be one testimony to your Glory!
Thank you for joining in prayer with your neighbors across El Dorado and Union County, Arkansas for the 2026 40 Days of Prayer. Please continue to pray for blessings and unity for our community.
We are so grateful for your partnership in God’s Kingdom work. May you and yours be blessed.
