DAY 39: Sunday, November 8
TOPIC: Addicts and their Families
SCRIPTURE: Psalm 31:24: “Be strong, and let your heart take courage, all you who wait for the Lord!”
OBSERVATION: Helplessness and hopelessness fill the life of many addicts and their families. The addict is powerless to stop on their own and the family can do nothing to change that. Love is painful in this situation. Sometimes life is too hard to face, and the terrible alternative is chosen.
PRAYER: Father, intervene. Step into the life of the addict and do whatever it takes for them to hit bottom. Help their family to allow it to happen. Help them all find their way to you. Also, step into the life of the family. Hold them close. Gather support around them. Calm their fears and free them from undeserved guilt. Help all to trust Your faithfulness. We pray this in Jesus name, Amen.
