SCRIPTURE: “My heart is fixed, O God, my heart is fixed. I will sing and give praise…” – Psalm 57:7
OBSERVATION: “Fix” as defined by Miriam Webster, “To make firm, stable, or stationary; to hold or direct steadily; to establish.” In such divided, unsteady, and troubled times, how can we sing, give praise, rejoice, or even pray? As believers, we can do this more readily, if our hearts are fixed on God. Our faith, though challenged, is not deterred. We hold fast to what His Word says, also remembering what God has done in our lives as individuals. Christ’s love for us through His death on the cross is the greatest example for us today. His heart was fixed… on us, upon all of humanity. Let our hearts, as well, be fixed upon him.
PRAYER: Lord, help me today to keep my heart, mind, and spirit fixed upon You, and your love and strength, wisdom, and guidance. Let me be Your light in a dark place today.
