DAY 12: Monday, October 12
TOPIC: Hospitals and Health Care Professionals
SCRIPTURE: Romans 12:10-13: Be devoted to one another in brotherly love. Honor one another above yourselves…Share with God’s people who are in need. Practice hospitality.
OBSERVATION: Medical personnel are busy. People are calling, an office is filled, there are folks to visit, a crowded emergency room, crises, critical situations. Do we ever get fed up or overwhelmed? Of course we do. People may disappoint, but in our profession, we never tire of them.
Jesus loved people, attracting large crowds with his love. He was critical of hypocrisy, yet he never tired of them. Healthcare folks must love people. Though our patience is tried, we are in the people-loving business; that makes us proud and fills us with satisfaction.
PRAYER: Father, we thank you for the privilege of being in our profession. May we always serve others with sincere brotherly love. In Memory of Bill Scurlock, M. D., General Surgery
