DAY 22: Thursday, October 22
TOPIC: Our Judges and the Judicial System
SCRIPTURE: “Appoint judges and officials for each of your tribes in every town the Lord your God is giving you, and they shall judge the people fairly. Do not pervert justice or show partiality.” Deuteronomy 16:18-19
OBSERVATION: This passage reminds us that true justice is not just a normal expectation of society but also a divine mandate, requiring leaders to act as good stewards of God’s impartiality. It reminds us that judicial authority is a position of great trust, where the fear of the Lord should supersede the pressure of public opinion or personal gain.
PRAYER: Lord, grant our judges, clerks, and court staff a profound sense of wisdom and integrity. Help them to see beyond the surface of every case, granting them discernment to uphold truth with compassion. May they always remember that their highest accountability is to You, and may their decisions be instruments of Your peace and equity in our communities. Amen.
