TOPIC: Praise for Our Freedoms and Liberties
SCRIPTURE: “Oh give thanks to the Lord, for he is good; for his steadfast love endures forever!” Psalm 118:1
OBSERVATION: Psalm 118 is written by someone who certainly realizes just how much he has to be thankful for! While there is no shortage of things to be thankful to God for, let’s take a moment today to specifically thank him for the freedoms and liberties we have in our nation. We likely take for granted the amount of civil and religious liberties we possess. Thank the Lord as you head to church on this Sunday morning to worship freely and publicly.
PRAYER: Father, we give you thanks that we live in a nation which provides us with such great freedoms and liberties–including freedom to worship you publicly. Lord, let us not take these freedoms for granted and let us utilize them to bring greater honor and glory to you. Let us also remember today those around the globe for whom these freedoms are not granted.
